# Pricing

> What decisions, fine-tuning, prompt tuning and keep warm cost.

You pay for what OneHot reads. A decision is billed by its input tokens, counted with one
tokenizer for every size, and the models write no output to charge for. Prices are in US
dollars before tax, and are paid from prepaid credit.

### Decisions

Per million input tokens.

| Model | Base model | Fine-tuned |
| - | - | - |
| kettei fat | \$0.06 | Not available yet |
| kettei chub | \$0.04 | \$0.08 |
| kettei core | \$0.02 | \$0.04 |

### Fine-tuning

Per million training tokens, and at least \$2.50 a job.

| Base model | Per million training tokens |
| - | - |
| kettei chub | \$0.80 |
| kettei core | \$0.40 |

### Prompt tuning

| Effort | Per job |
| - | - |
| standard | \$0.50 |
| thorough | \$3.00 |

### Keep warm

| Model | Per hour |
| - | - |
| kettei chub | \$0.10 |
| kettei core | \$0.10 |

### Starter credit

Admission gives \$5.00 of credit, once per email inbox, valid for 30 days.

## How each charge works

| Charge | How it is counted |
| - | - |
| Decisions | Your input tokens, at the price of the model that answers. A [fallback](/guides/models-and-fallback#choose-fallback) never costs more than the model you asked for. A retry with the same idempotency key isn't charged again |
| Evaluations | As decisions, for new predictions only. Saved results are reused for free |
| Fine-tuning | Every token a fine-tune trains on, each time it reads it. The estimate gives the exact fee before you start, and a fine-tune is charged only if it succeeds ([estimate the fee](/guides/fine-tuning#estimate-the-fee)) |
| Prompt tuning | Per job, depending on its result and on whether the same rows were tested before ([limits and costs](/guides/prompt-tuning#limits-and-costs)) |
| Keep warm | Per hour a model is kept loaded, billed by the started minute ([keep a model warm](/guides/models-and-fallback#keep-a-model-warm)) |

Dataset storage and teacher labelling show their price before you start. So does every paid
job: the console and the API show the price, and `max_price_usd` refuses a job that would cost
more than you agreed ([cap a price](/guides/accounts-and-usage#cap-a-price)).

These are the standard prices. `pricing` on `GET /v1/onehot` gives the prices in force for your
account, and `GET /v1/models` shows which sizes are serving. Your tier, its limits and
how credit is held are in [accounts and usage](/guides/accounts-and-usage).
